Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) is based upon more than 50 years of scientific research focused on individuals with a wide range of behavioural and developmental disorders. It has become the most widely recognised and scientifically proven treatment for autism.
Our comprehensive programme addresses all skill areas of development and areas of delay, including
- Speech and language
- Play and social skills
- Academic skills
- Self-help and independent living skills
Teaching is conducted in a systematic manner, breaking down tasks and goals into smaller and more manageable components. The intervention is structured so that positive, appropriate behaviours such as play, language and socialisation are encouraged and maximised through prompting techniques and positive reinforcement.
Each child will work with a designated BCBA, who will be responsible for assessing, writing the individual programs, supervision of Registered Behaviour Technicians (RBTs), training parents and nannies, as well as supporting the extended team, inclusive of school/nursery teachers. At Reach Out the BCBA therapists regularly work directly with the children on a 1-1 basis.
Our RBTs follow the Individual programs, set by the BCBA, and receive ongoing supervision and training. The therapy sessions can take place at our centre, in your home or at your child’s school or nursery.
